Lawrenceville Farmers Market moves to Tuesday evenings, partners with Bloomfield Saturday Market
The Lawrenceville Farmers Market is set to open its 2019 season from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, June 4, which is a big change from their previous Saturday afternoon event.
The main mission of the Lawrenceville Market is to make food more accessible to the community by offering affordable fresh and locally grown foods and produce to residents and visitors. A Tuesday evening will allow for more vendor participation, adding a larger variety of food options for patrons.
This date change also comes as a result of a cooperative partnership with the Bloomfield Saturday Market. The partnership will create a small cohort of shared farmers and producers that participate in both the Lawrenceville Farmers Market and Bloomfield Saturday Market, giving community members two opportunities to shop with their favorite vendors.
The redesign of this neighborhood staple has allowed for better growth. Already, the market has more than doubled its vendors since the 2018 season. It will feature a range of regional farmers and markers including Crust Worthy, Grateful Life Farm, Cherish Creamery, wild mushroom forager Real Fungi, Hog Dog Winery, Hannah’s Honey, and Harvest Valley Farm. Customers at this year’s Farmers Market will be able to purchase a variety of locally grown vegetables and fruit, baked goods (including bread and pastries), cheese, eggs, meat (including grass-fed beef, poultry, and pork), honey, prepared foods, teas and coffee, wine and spirits, and specialty items like olive oil, preserves and jams, candles and soap, and much more!
“It was a much needed change,” said Sarah Cole, Lawrenceville Farmers Market Manager. “The support has been overwhelming, and we’re excited to provide this new and improved market to our community and our vendors.”
The Lawrenceville Farmers Market will continue to provide space for community groups, creative performances, and special happenings during the 2019 season with even more special programming designed around the market’s main mission. Visit the market every Tuesday evening from 4-7 pm, June 4 through Oct. 29 in Arsenal Park.
Regional producers, musicians, and organizations are encouraged to participate in the Lawrenceville Farmers Market. For more information, contact Market Manager Sarah Cole at 412-802-7220 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
